About Me

Originally from the south of England, I live in the West of Ireland with my Irish partner and a very bold black cat. I can't remember a time when I didn't want to write, but somehow there was never enough time. Moving here and falling in love with County Sligo and its stunning landscape and neolithic history, it didn't take long to start. And once I started,  I couldn't stop.

It took me a while to settle into my genre, but fascinated with ancient history and folklore and obsessed with ghost stories, it was inevitable I would come to write Dark Fantasy and Folk Horror. And yet with my deep love for the natural world, ecology and climate change are never far away. 

​

I started writing "The Carrowkeel Series"  in 2012 and somehow it felt right that my first work was for the child inside. The little girl who is still enthralled with Susan Cooper's  Dark is Rising series and 70's UK TV series, The Children of the Stones.

My published works include "The Carrowkeel Series", YA Dark Fantasy Trilogy, "A Face in the Leaves" Folk Horror Novella and numerous short stories.
